Happy Black Friday! I’ve got links to lots of sales, promos, and crafty shopping opportunities here and I’ll continue to update it all weekend long! Plus check out a special Thanksgiving giveaway here! And I’m also hopping along for Ellen Hutson’s 11th Anniversary and there are BIG giveaways up for grabs! 😉
Good morning and happy Black Friday! 😉 Today I’m excited to join a few friends for a surprise bloghop to celebrate Purple Onion Designs! I actually discovered the adorable critters of Purple Onion Designs two Black Fridays ago so it seems kinda like kismet to be hopping for them today! 😉 Before we get to today’s card just a couple of things to mention…first off, there’s a 25% off sale on all stamps over at Purple Onion Designs so make sure you stop by and do a little post-holiday shopping! Second, in celebration of the hop, Sandy Allnock is giving away spots in a class of their choice to 3 lucky commenters along the bloghop – so be sure to comment everywhere! If the winner has already purchased a class during the current sale, that class fee can be refunded. Winner will be posted on Sandy’s blog on December 1st, 2017. Good luck!
So, here’s what I created:
I love all the little details of the adorable critters so I wanted to keep the background really clean and simple. I started by stamping the Birch bunny on white cardstock with copic-friendly ink and then colored him with copic markers. I used the ScanNCut to cut him out and then added accents with a white gel pen and a spectrum noir clear sparkle brush pen.
Then I blended tumbled glass, peacock feathers, and salty ocean distress ink onto a piece of bristol smooth cardstock. I splattered it with water and copic opaque white paint to give the look of a snowy sky. I tore white cardstock to create snowy hills and adhered them together. I stamped the sentiment on the top hill and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder. I adhered the hills over the distress inked background and finished the card with just a trio of sequins and snowflakes.
I really think the simple background allows the bunny to shine! 🙂 Anyway, it’s time to get hopping! Sonja is your next stop on the hop! Remember, leave comments on all the stops for the most chances to win! Good luck and happy hopping!

Sorry to be commenting on such an old post. I love Stacey Yacula images and have been considering purchasing a ScanNCut to cut the images. Is there a special setting needed to get the machine to cut these images? I tried using the ScanNCut at a local library and because the images don’t have a solid outline, like, for example, a Lawn Fawn critter, the machine was breaking down different body parts to cut out (ear, snout, etc. I hand drew an outline around the stamped image, which worked okay. It seems there must be a way to cut the basic shape with a little white border like your adorable project shows. Any tips you have are appreciated.
