Good morning! I’m super excited to be a guest-designer for the May release from Pretty Pink Posh! Have you checked out the new release yet? It’s got something for everybody!! Cute puppies, gorgeous flowers, beautiful sentiments! I created two cards today using the Flourishing Fuchsias set!
I wanted to try two different mediums with the floral stamps…my first card uses Mijello Mission Gold watercolors.
I started by stamping the leaves and flowers with versamark and heat-embossing them with gold tinsel embossing powder. I decided to play with an unusual card size so I trimmed my watercolor paper down to 3″ by 7″. I painted the flowers with my mission gold watercolors and attempted to add some shading…watercolors still give me trouble. I also added a halo of pink around the stamped images. Once it was dry I masked the images again and added splatters of dark and light pink.
I stamped the sentiment from Simply Sayings: Life and heat-embossed it with the same gold tinsel embossing powder. Next I took a piece of watercolor paper and painted a pink ombre wash across the paper. Once it dried I trimmed it down to 3 1/4″ by 7 1/4″. I adhered the watercolored fuchsias over the ombre panel and then added metallic gold jewels to finish the card.
My second card uses polychromos colored pencils on colored cardstock! I started by stamping the images onto black cardstock with white pigment ink. I blasted it with a heat gun to make sure the white ink wouldn’t smudge and then put down a thick layer of white colored pencil as the base. Next I colored the images using my white pencil to blend the colors together.
When I was testing colors to see if I liked the way they blended together I came up with the idea for my sentiment. On a second piece of black cardstock I colored a rectangle with my white colored pencil. Then I laid down four shades of pink in an ombre blend. I die-cut the ‘Get Well Soon’ sentiment from the colored pencil panel and then pressed a versamark pad over the die cut words. I heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder and then repeated the process twice to build up a nice, smooth layer of clear embossing powder. I adhered the sentiment to the fuchsia background and then trimmed the panel down by a 1/4 inch. I adhered that panel to a black card base and then finished it with a few amethyst jewels!
I ran out of time but I had hoped to create another card using copic markers for a third medium. I’m still hoping to get that done this weekend I’ll share it if I find time! 😉

Your cards are stunning! I love the watercolored fuchsias. The jewel tones really pop against the gold embossing powder. The single fuchsia on the black cardstock makes such a statement and that ombre sentiment is gorgeous!
