Good morning! I am thrilled to be a guest for the Pretty Pink Posh May Release Blog Hop! I’ve been a huge fan of Paulina’s gorgeous sequins since I started crafting in the summer of 2014 and discovered her online shop! At that time she was just selling sequins but has since expanded her line to include clever dies and adorable stamps and I was so excited to receive her May release in the mail! 😉
I’ve actually created 7 cards using the new stamps and sequins but figured you’ve got a bunch of hop stops and lots of fabulous projects to see so I’ll save some of mine for next week! 😉 Here’s my first card:
I started by stamping the Woodland Critters, Build a Bloom, and Bold Blooms images multiple times onto white cardstock with copic-friendly black ink and coloring them with copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and then started arranging different scenes. Once I had a few scenes created I took quick photos of each scene using my phone and then worked on creating a background for each scene. For my first card I blended black soot, chipped sapphire, and seedless preserves distress ink onto watercolor paper and flicked water across the panel. Once it dried I decided it was a little darker than I wanted so I layered vellum over the watercolor paper. I die-cut the edges with the Scallop Borders 2 die set and left a little extra vellum on the top edge of the card so I could fold it over and adhere it to the back of the watercolor paper.
I stamped my sentiment from Thoughtful Greetings onto the vellum panel and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder. Then I adhered my scene to the vellum. Once they were adhered I flipped the vellum over and added adhesive behind the stamped images so that it would hold the vellum down and be hidden from view. Finally I finished the card with a few Navy sequins and tied a silver twine bow to the top of the card!
For my second card I die-cut the Scallop Frame with white cardstock and layered it over dark blue cardstock. Then I carefully cut the sentiment stamp from Thoughtful Greetings apart and stamped part of it towards the top of the panel and part of it towards the bottom. I stamped it with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I arranged the my critters and foliage between the sentiment and finished the card with a sprinkling of the Spring Meadow sequins mix!
I adore all these critters! They’re so cute! Honestly, this entire release is a must-have! The sentiments are perfect for all occasions and the mixes are gorgeous!
