This week the Papertrey Ink: Make it Monday Challenge is to use a corner of the card instead of the middle as a focal point and January’s Virginia’s View Challenge is a Clean Slate. Virginia gives several examples of what constitutes a clean slate card and I chose to create a card with a lot of white space.
I used Mama Elephant pigment inks in Lemongrass and Mojito to stamp the ferns from the Papertrey Ink stamp set, Meadow Greens, in the bottom corner. Then I stamped the stems of the flowers with Mama Elephant pigment ink in Hazel and the actual flowers with Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink. I added the sentiment from the same PTI stamp set and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink. I scored three lines on the bottom and left of the card and used the score lines to lay out some gold metallic thread for a little extra sparkle. Finally I adhered the white cardstock to a dark brown cardstock so that the greens would stand out a little more.
I have a feeling I’ll be making quite a few more of these “corner” cards to fill my everyday card stash…I enjoy not having to worry about getting something perfectly spaced in the middle of a card!

The metallic thread is so neat! Would love to know how you got it to stay so straight!

Thanks Danielle! I lightly scored the card with the design and then laid the thread down in the scorelines! 🙂
