Good morning and happy weekend! Today I’m popping in to share a card I created using more of the images I’ve colored for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge! I just love the Book Worm set from Mama Elephant and used the image to create a card for a certain book-loving friend of mine! 🙂
I decided to stick to a bit of a rainbow theme for this card resulting in a bright and cheery card!
To start I die-cut the Peekaboo Backdrop from Lawn Fawn with white cardstock. I placed it over a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock and used purple tape to mask off the various openings so that I could add blending. I used shaded lilac, wilted violet, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, spun sugar, and picked raspberry distress inks to create my panels. I also spritzed them with shimmer spray and water and blotted off the excess. After the distress ink was dry I stamped the sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Good Reads with versafine on the purple panel and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Next I adhered the peekaboo frame die over the blended background and then figured out the arrangement of all the images. I paired up critters for each panel except for the sentiment panel and adhered them under and over the frame for more visual interest. Then I added little accents to make things more interesting. I die-cut a few hearts from a Lawn Fawn die set, colored them with copics, and adhered one in each panel. Then I added accents to the images with a white gel pen and finished the card by adding a thin layer of crystal glaze over their glasses! I just love these reading critters and I hope my friend does, too! 😉
And before I wrap things up I have a few winners to announce! The winner of The Stamp Market Insta-Hop giveaway is Mary Lehett and the winner of the Studio Katia 3rd Anniversary giveaway is Teri Spracklin! Ladies please send me an email via the contact page at the top of my blog and I’ll get those prizes out to you ASAP! 🙂 Congrats!
