Good morning and Happy Mer-May! Today I’m helping the Rabbit Hole Designs celebrate their May release! I’m using High Tide and Salty Air with Chibitronics to create a dramatic light-up card!
I have a video for my card and you can watch the video below or over at my YouTube channel!
If you cannot view the video, please click HERE!
To start, I ink-blended my night sky and ocean using distress oxide inks in Blueprint Sketch, Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. I also added splatters of water and white gouache to my sky to create a night full of stars! Then I colored the images with copic markers and die-cut the mermaid with the coordinating die.
Watch the video to see the circuit and detailed instructions for how to shape the light into beams. I added black cardstock to the back of the panel to create beams and then used three LED stickers in white and yellow to create the rays!
And that’s it for me! I hope you’ll head over and check out the full release! I’m hopping to celebrate the release so please head to the next link and comment for a chance to win a gift card to The Rabbit Hole Designs! Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic week!

Hi Jess. Your card is wonderful and the little mermaid is just too cute. I love how you blended the background and added splatter to make the night sky so pretty. I also like how you put vellum of the the light so it wasn’t so bright and used white pigment ink to extend the lighthouse’s light. Thank you for taking time to make a video on how the make such a great background and install the light
