Good morning! I am excited to be participating in a special blog hop to celebrate the recent marriage of my good friend, Ruby Farooqui and Steven Ianigro! We wanted to do something to celebrate and we thought we’d give her a bridal shower, papercrafter style!!
I know that Ruby loves watercolors, cake (yay!), pink, gold, and black so I wanted to create something with those themes in mind and here’s what I came up with!
This definitely says Ruby to me! Hopefully she agrees!
Anyway, to start I stamped the gorgeous cake from Concord & 9th onto watercolor paper and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder. Then I watercolored the flowers with zigs and the cake with gansai tambi watercolors and a small paintbrush. After I was happy with the coloring I let it dry and then stamped the “Mr. and Mrs.” and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. I die-cut it with the coordinating dies and then set it aside while I worked on the rest of the card.
I wanted the focus to stay on my cake so I went digging through my patterned paper stash and found this pretty black and gold foiled pattern. I trimmed it down to an A2 panel, stamped the rest of my sentiment onto the paper and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. I adhered the cake with foam mounting tape and then added a sprinkling of gold sequins to finish the card!
