Good morning and Happy Friday! Today I have a fun card to share using some a new die set from Spellbinders! Birdhouses Through the Seasons were created by Vicky Papaioannou and today I’m featuring the cute Summer Build a Birdhouse set!
I’m a sucker for anything nautical so this was my favorite set! I started by die-cutting all the pieces and then adding shading and coloring with copic markers. I added a few accents with a white gel pen and then adhered the lighthouse birdhouse together and added the stand and post.
I blended the background with salvaged patina, mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch, and chipped sapphire distress oxide inks. Then I blended antique linen and tea dye oxide inks onto a panel of white cardstock. I splattered the sand with water and ink for more texture and then tore it to create the look of the surf breaking on the sand. I blended more ink onto the other torn piece to look like more sand. I adhered those to my blended background and then added the birdhouse with foam mounting tape. I finished the card with a few seagulls and a sentiment from a Hero Arts set!

Love this too Jessica! Weirdly though, when I ordered the bundle from Spellbinders I got two autumn die sets and zero summer ones! They have shipped me the summer one so I’m waiting patiently — I can’t wait, I love the lighthouse!! Your card is very fun, I can’t wait to play along!
