It’s hard to believe that it’s been a week of coffee, tea, and cocoa-goodness! For my final card I wanted to create a card for Amy to thank her for all her hard work putting this hop together!!
That’s a lot of thanks spilled out from just one mug of coffee…I started out with just a dribble of watercolored coffee but decided that I liked the look of a big spill better! I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Perk Up stamp set. Then I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and Walnut stain distress ink to watercolor the coffee and then added splatters of the same inks, diluted and undiluted. I dabbed on a few dots of glossy accents, turned the paper vertical, and tapped it onto the tabletop gently to get the glue to pool more realistically.
Next I stamped and heat-embossed the large mug stamp from the Simon Says Stamp What’s Brewing onto a piece of patterned paper. I fussy cut the mug and cut a piece of dark brown cardstock into a shape that would look like coffee flowing out of the mug. I covered that with glossy accents and set it aside to dry. Once everything was dry I cut the panel down and mounted it to a piece of Simon Says Stamp dark chocolate cardstock. I adhered the mug with foam mounting tape for a little extra dimension. Finally I decided that it needed a little more color so I added a few lines of pink thread across the top of the card!
Thanks again to everyone who has been stopping by and leaving such kind comments! I really REALLY appreciate them! I’ve enjoyed participating in the hop so much and I can’t wait until the next one! Just for fun, these are all of my contributions to the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
