Happy New Year!! I am thrilled to be participating in the Seasons Givings blog hop again this year! The hop is in it’s 6th year and is the brainchild of the amazing Latisha Yoast! EVERY stop on this hop is hosting a separate giveaway and there are A LOT of stops (over 60!)! 😉 We want to thank you, fabulous readers, for a wonderful year of crafty support and friendship!
Yesterday I posted a round-up of my favorite cards of 2017 with a separate giveaway that you can find here but I did want to share one more card with you! I saw a card at the store last year featuring a design where the year flipped from one number to the next and decided to use that as my inspiration.
I love black, white, and gold decor for the New Year’s holiday and used that as my color palette. I started by cutting 4 small white rectangles. Then I die-cut the numbers from each rectangle using Finley’s 123s from Lawn Fawn. On the last rectangle I used part of the number 7 and part of 8 as if to show the date flipping to the new year. Then I die-cut the same numbers using a metallic gold cardstock. I inlaid the gold cardstock inside the white cardstock and adhered them to a black card base.
I die-cut the Happy word using the same gold cardstock and adhered it to the card panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from Happy Happy Happy add-ons with versafine onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed it down and adhered it to the card panel with foam mounting tape. Finally I added a spray of metallic gold sequins across the card. And that’s it…a bright and sparkly way to ring in 2018!!
This year I have a few continuing crafty resolutions. First off, I hope to continue to improve my copic and colored pencil coloring. I also resolve to send more cards each month and continue to develop the crafty friendships I’ve made in this amazing community. Finally I hope to stick to using a planner…ha, I REALLY need it. Here’s to keeping our resolutions and lots of crafty success in 2018 to all of us!
To celebrate the Seasons Giving blog hop I am giving away a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp! My giveaway is open worldwide and is open for one week! I’m super excited for 2018! It’s my year to get caught up on scrapbooking! And I’m going back to school to get my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing!
What a fabulous card! Love the ‘flipping’ digit in the year. I didn’t make any resolutions but I would like to procrastinate more and just get the crafting done, rather than thinking about it too much.
This card is really beautiful with all that gold. My reslutions for this year are: having/taking more time to make cards! Hope I’ll more inspiration this year. Happy new year to you.
You have been such an inspiration this year! I’m so glad that I found you. I have resolved to make more cards for charity this year – a good use of my abundant supplies. You are a blessing. Thanks and happy new year!

Happy New Year Jessica and thank you for the giveaway. I have a list of resolutions. I am going to get organized….lose weight…..craft more…..spend more time with my grandchildren crafting…..and most of all I am going to concentrate on being kind, no matter what I am faced with, I am going to respond with kindness.
I love your cards. I also, follow you on instagram. I don’t have a resolution. I usually don’t make them because I have a hard time keeping them. This year I just hope to spend as much time as possible with my son and find a little free time to make some cards as well.
Love the inspiration card. It is very stylish. My crafty resolve this year is to improve my coloring skills and also send out more cards.

My resolution is to try something new every month. We’ll see how it goes!
My crafty resolution for this year is to learn to take better photos of the cards that I make and share them on IG more regularly. I also MUST be disciplined in using all of the supplies that I order….so that I can justify ordering more….and more….and more. 🙂
Your new years card is so fabulous. great way to show one going out, while one is coming in….. I say this every year, get organized!!! My space is small with loads of boxes. But who knows what is in each box???? Maybe this year…… Thanks for a chance to win and all the best in 2018.
Loved your sensational seasonal card! Great idea with the “flipping” numbers. I love that you shared your crafty resolutions, too. Mine is to work really hard on using up the stash, and to resist the instant gratification of online shopping for more supplies…. And to make all the birthday cards I send out for 2018.
Your cards are beautiful, looking forward to seeing what you create in 2018. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win your generous giveaway. This year I really need to diet and exercise, eeek.
