Happy New Year!! I am thrilled to be participating in the Seasons Givings blog hop again this year! The hop is in it’s 6th year and is the brainchild of the amazing Latisha Yoast! EVERY stop on this hop is hosting a separate giveaway and there are A LOT of stops (over 60!)! 😉 We want to thank you, fabulous readers, for a wonderful year of crafty support and friendship!
Yesterday I posted a round-up of my favorite cards of 2017 with a separate giveaway that you can find here but I did want to share one more card with you! I saw a card at the store last year featuring a design where the year flipped from one number to the next and decided to use that as my inspiration.
I love black, white, and gold decor for the New Year’s holiday and used that as my color palette. I started by cutting 4 small white rectangles. Then I die-cut the numbers from each rectangle using Finley’s 123s from Lawn Fawn. On the last rectangle I used part of the number 7 and part of 8 as if to show the date flipping to the new year. Then I die-cut the same numbers using a metallic gold cardstock. I inlaid the gold cardstock inside the white cardstock and adhered them to a black card base.
I die-cut the Happy word using the same gold cardstock and adhered it to the card panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from Happy Happy Happy add-ons with versafine onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed it down and adhered it to the card panel with foam mounting tape. Finally I added a spray of metallic gold sequins across the card. And that’s it…a bright and sparkly way to ring in 2018!!
This year I have a few continuing crafty resolutions. First off, I hope to continue to improve my copic and colored pencil coloring. I also resolve to send more cards each month and continue to develop the crafty friendships I’ve made in this amazing community. Finally I hope to stick to using a planner…ha, I REALLY need it. Here’s to keeping our resolutions and lots of crafty success in 2018 to all of us!
To celebrate the Seasons Giving blog hop I am giving away a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp! My giveaway is open worldwide and is open for one week! Your projects always fill me with awe!! You rock and this card is sparkly and gorgeous!! Happy New Year to you!! My resolution is to make a card every week!!
this card is so clever and classy in these colors! I’m determined to make cards ahead of time for birthdays…it’s not like I don’t know they’re coming up!
My resolution is to donate more cards and improve on my coloring skills. And to start a blog. I need to get busy!
I don’t really have a resolution, but I would like to take more time to craft this year so that I’m not rushing to get all my projects done all of the time – makes it feel like work. Will be nice to enjoy crafting. Thanks for sharing your card and the chance to win a great prize!
Happy New Year. I am loving the elegant look of that card. My resolution is to scrapbook more.
Beautiful card to celebrate the new year!! My resolution is to stress less over things. In card-making, I need to allow myself to make mistakes without feeling as if I’ve blown things royally and I need to give myself more time to learn new skills without expecting myself to get things perfect the first time I try them.
My resolution for 2018 is more muscle tone. My craft resolution is to work on some fantastic backgrounds.
You made a very elegant card! Happy New Year!
Happy new year! I don’t make resolutions but one goal I have is to make four or five Christmas cards every month to get a head start for next Christmas.
My crafty resolution is to mail cards on time! Happy New Year, Jessica!
Such a clever idea! I want to create more of what I like and less of what I think others will like
I don’t really do resolutions per se, but I do tend to think about the things that I’m happy with and what I want to continue doing, so for me it’s more wanting to continue my healthy habits (especially mentally). And then I want to be more timely with sending cards. I have ideas, but then it takes me forever to finish them, so I’d like to try and get birthday cards out closer to real birthdays instead of half birthdays this year.
But anyway, enough about me. I love this card. The turn-over effect is so cool and so effective! I love how that looks. Thanks for so generously sharing your talents with us and participating in this sweet (and gigantic) bloghop. I hope you have a wonderful and creative new year!
Thanks for sharing and offering a cool give away. I love following your site and enjoy all your creative ideas. My new year resolution work on healthy lifestyle
What a fun party card! I always love your projects and look forward to seeing what you come up with in 2018! No resolution, just a goal of finally learning how to do foiling… all kinds of foiling!
Hello Jess… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Your new year card is STUNNING and FESTIVE!
I have some goals but the most of all is be more intentional in everything I do.
Thank you so much for the chance to win your prize.
My resolutions are more like goals. I’m trying to craft something every day and I really would like to join a design team. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
