Happy New Year!! I am thrilled to be participating in the Seasons Givings blog hop again this year! The hop is in it’s 6th year and is the brainchild of the amazing Latisha Yoast! EVERY stop on this hop is hosting a separate giveaway and there are A LOT of stops (over 60!)! 😉 We want to thank you, fabulous readers, for a wonderful year of crafty support and friendship!
Yesterday I posted a round-up of my favorite cards of 2017 with a separate giveaway that you can find here but I did want to share one more card with you! I saw a card at the store last year featuring a design where the year flipped from one number to the next and decided to use that as my inspiration.
I love black, white, and gold decor for the New Year’s holiday and used that as my color palette. I started by cutting 4 small white rectangles. Then I die-cut the numbers from each rectangle using Finley’s 123s from Lawn Fawn. On the last rectangle I used part of the number 7 and part of 8 as if to show the date flipping to the new year. Then I die-cut the same numbers using a metallic gold cardstock. I inlaid the gold cardstock inside the white cardstock and adhered them to a black card base.
I die-cut the Happy word using the same gold cardstock and adhered it to the card panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from Happy Happy Happy add-ons with versafine onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed it down and adhered it to the card panel with foam mounting tape. Finally I added a spray of metallic gold sequins across the card. And that’s it…a bright and sparkly way to ring in 2018!!
This year I have a few continuing crafty resolutions. First off, I hope to continue to improve my copic and colored pencil coloring. I also resolve to send more cards each month and continue to develop the crafty friendships I’ve made in this amazing community. Finally I hope to stick to using a planner…ha, I REALLY need it. Here’s to keeping our resolutions and lots of crafty success in 2018 to all of us!
To celebrate the Seasons Giving blog hop I am giving away a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp! My giveaway is open worldwide and is open for one week! Thank you for the wonderful inspiration! My goal is to clean up as I go and not leave such big messes! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I didn’t make any new year resolutions other than to be more crafty this year.
Fun card. Love the black, gold and white color palette. Always a classic. My goal for the next year is to devote more time to prayer and scripture reading and to be on a stamp company design team.
Love your cards! I want to grow my new blog and make lots of cards!
Gorgeous sparkly New Years card, Thanks for your generous participation in this Season of Giving Event! My crafty resolution is to organize my craft room so I can be more productive in my card making!
My New Years Resolution is to send the cards that I make out to people.
My resolution is to learn calligraphy. That’s just one of many resolutions I have! Thank you for a wonderful giveaway!
I have lots of goals for the new year … more sleep is a biggie!
ARGH! That is so clever, using just part of the numbers to create that ‘flipping’ number look. You are a genius! <3
My New Years Crafty Resolution is to make (and give / send!) more cards! I was just finding my crafty feet in 2017 (just starting out in card making, learning new techniques, purchasing supplies etc). But now, it's time to get busy! I want to be handing out little paper parcels of encouragement wherever I go! <3
Love all the shiny New Year’s card. Hopefully 2018 will allow me to spend more tome making cards
Happy New Year. I love your card. So unique. My crafty resolution is to create b’day cards for all my friends and family. Another resolution is to get my house organized. Thanks for the giveaway.
I aim to set aside time to stamp more, photograph what I stamp and then post it.
Thank you for sharing all your talents and inspiration! I appreciate the opportunity to enter your blog post giveaway… I hope to finish our move and set up my new craft room as soon as possible in 2018. God bless you. Diana O emichaels12@hotmail.com
I resolve to do more stress free crafting. I am always rushing at the last minute to get cards done. This year I want to have them done in advance.
Happy New Year! I love your card-I also like the black and gold and your design is very clever! My New Years resolution is to make a bigger assortment of cards so I have them at my fingertips. I pretty much make them on demand now, so I end up missing events. Would like to change that.
I resolve to get a new job this year…interview on Tuesday, so I am hopeful! Happy New Year!
Love your New Years card! My resolution is to learn to use my Copics…I just started collecting them in 2017 and I’m loving them so far! Happy New Year!
Gorgeous card! Love all the bling! Thank you for sharing your creativity in the Season’s of Giving Hop

Thanks for the inspiration. My resolution is to be more efficient and not overthink every move and actually finish the project 🙂
This year I want to carve out some ME time for my papercrafting. Also to add copics to my stash, I’m missing quite a few colors still.
Happy New Year!! love the clever idea of the number changing!! i plan to learn brush calligraphy this year!!
Beautiful card with a fabulous colour palette. I’ve enjoyed your work tremendously during 2017. During 2018, I intend to craft more consistently by participating in challenges and improve my water colouring skills. Thanks for your continued generosity.
Absolutely love your New Years card! Beautiful! Happy New Year!
My card making resolution is to try more techniques!
