Happy New Year!! I am thrilled to be participating in the Seasons Givings blog hop again this year! The hop is in it’s 6th year and is the brainchild of the amazing Latisha Yoast! EVERY stop on this hop is hosting a separate giveaway and there are A LOT of stops (over 60!)! 😉 We want to thank you, fabulous readers, for a wonderful year of crafty support and friendship!
Yesterday I posted a round-up of my favorite cards of 2017 with a separate giveaway that you can find here but I did want to share one more card with you! I saw a card at the store last year featuring a design where the year flipped from one number to the next and decided to use that as my inspiration.
I love black, white, and gold decor for the New Year’s holiday and used that as my color palette. I started by cutting 4 small white rectangles. Then I die-cut the numbers from each rectangle using Finley’s 123s from Lawn Fawn. On the last rectangle I used part of the number 7 and part of 8 as if to show the date flipping to the new year. Then I die-cut the same numbers using a metallic gold cardstock. I inlaid the gold cardstock inside the white cardstock and adhered them to a black card base.
I die-cut the Happy word using the same gold cardstock and adhered it to the card panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from Happy Happy Happy add-ons with versafine onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed it down and adhered it to the card panel with foam mounting tape. Finally I added a spray of metallic gold sequins across the card. And that’s it…a bright and sparkly way to ring in 2018!!
This year I have a few continuing crafty resolutions. First off, I hope to continue to improve my copic and colored pencil coloring. I also resolve to send more cards each month and continue to develop the crafty friendships I’ve made in this amazing community. Finally I hope to stick to using a planner…ha, I REALLY need it. Here’s to keeping our resolutions and lots of crafty success in 2018 to all of us!
To celebrate the Seasons Giving blog hop I am giving away a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp! My giveaway is open worldwide and is open for one week! Fabulous and super clever card! I was not able to get in much crafty time in 2017 so I hope to find more time to get inky in 2018. Happy 2018!

Happy New Year and thank you for the generous giveaway! I’m not much of a resolution maker, but I do wish to learn how to watercolor in 2018! Your cards are beautiful!

Thanks for your website! My crafting resolution should be to spend less time on the computer looking for ideas or things to make and just sit down at my scrapbook table and start creating and using all of the supplies I love to buy!! Thanks for the chance at the gift card. That would be awesome!

Jessica,
A very cool celebratory card! I could see this used for a birthday card too. Wishing you all the best in keeping to your resolutions… mine is to sew a little every day since I have a bit of a fabric stash. Wishing you a fabulous year ahead!
Sue McRae says
Very fun card design with the number flipping! One of my crafty resolutions is to make at least three cards per week for the whole year!
Holly Flores says
Happy New Year!!! Love the cute card you made, great colors and design. Instead of resolving to have to do something, this year I will follow positive affirmations….such as “Just for today, I am going to make a card, take a picture of it, and blog about it”. I have been MIA mostly the past three years due to school and a new career, so I want to get back to card making and blogging.
Amy Cooley says
I really like your clever design idea! Thanks for sharing all your beautiful card ideas. My resolution for this year is to pray more and worry less. Happy New Year!

I love the black-and-gold theme! I work two jobs, so my resolution is to spend my few recreation hours actually doing fun stuff, rather than thinking about doing fun stuff or thinking about how I wish I had more time to do fun stuff.
Outside Inn says
A planner… that’s not my goal, what if I only managed to just do the things on my to do list? Laughing. I’ll work on being slightly better of cleaning up my crafty messes.
Barb Macaskill says
My resolution for 2018 is to focus on the positive things in life and to rid myself of negativity! Drama, ignorance and nastiness are all things that I don’t want in my life and am distancing myself from those who feel that they are a necessary part of life!
I have learned over the years that there is always a positive side to everything. I was diagnosed with cancer for the first of three times when I was 13 years old and my parents were told that without a miracle I only had a 20% chance of making it out alive. As a rebellious 13 year old I told the doctors *u*k you, I have too many things that I want to do so I don’t plan on dying anytime soon. 36 almost 37 years later I am still here. Not very healthy but I can watch my grandchildren grow up and feel their loving hugs and kisses! They truly are the BEST part of me!
Having Cancer so young has shaped me into the person I am today and I wouldn’t change a thing!
Thank you for the chance to win this prize and Happy New Year!
