Shaker Saturday #14 and GIVEAWAY winners!

Good afternoon and thanks for stopping by for Shaker Saturday!  I missed the last two weeks but I’m back! 🙂  All week long I’ve been participating in the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and now that the hop has ended I’m in beverage card withdrawal!  So for today’s shaker card I decided to go with a different drink! 😉

Ha ha, I LOVE this stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop!  I’m actually not a beer drinker (at all…I prefer alcohol that doesn’t actually taste like alcohol…which basically means I’m limited to dessert wines…ha) but I have several friends who definitely appreciate this card!  And unfortunately I didn’t photograph the sentiment inside the card; but it reads, ‘I mean here.  But, it would be cool if you brought beer too.’ Ha!  Also, the front of the card sentiment reads ‘Awe, Man’ which bugs me a bit since it’s the wrong use of the word ‘awe’ so I just skipped stamping the ‘e’ and comma.  Next time I use it, I may restamp the sentiment to get it to read ‘aww’ instead.

So I started off by stamping the glass of beer and the sentiment onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp cream cardstock with Memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored the inside of the glass and the word ‘beer’ with a gold wink of stella glitter pen.  Next I went over the bubbles with my Pico Embellisher in wedding dress and heated it with my heat gun until the paint started to bubble.  Then I went over the entire glass with glossy accents and set it aside to dry.

I used the new Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die to cut a small frame of gold glitter paper and a larger panel of cream cardstock.  I cut the small frame out of the large panel so I would be able to inset the shaker into the large panel to make a thinner card.  I adhered a piece of acetate to the gold glitter frame and then added foam mounting tape to the glitter frame.  Once the glossy accents dried completely I filled the shaker with gold round confetti, waltz white sequins, and glass slippers sequins from The Ton.  I assembled the shaker and then mounted the panel to a top-folding card base of the same cream cardstock.
