Hello and welcome to Studio Katia‘s 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop! I’m so excited to help Katia and her team celebrate and I’ve created a bright and cheerful card for the occasion!
I love this fun Balloon Trimmings set and decided that I wanted to create a sea of sparkly mint, teal, and sapphire balloons! To start I stamped the Horizontal Birthday Balloons Trimmings set onto white cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed them with silver tinsel embossing powder. Then I colored them with copics and fussy cut all the balloons. I also added accents with a white gel pen and set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
Next I blended cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, and blueprint sketch distress oxide ink onto a panel of strathmore bristol cardstock. I splattered the top of the panel with water and shimmer spray, blotted off the excess, and then added a few splatters of white gouache. Once the panel was totally dry I stamped the balloons twice across the top and the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder. I used liquid pixie dust and a tiny bit of water to “paint” the white-embossed balloons on the panel. This just added a lot of sparkle and lightened the balloons ever so slightly. Then I arranged my copic colored balloons on top with foam mounting tape. I added crystal glaze to several of the balloons and sprinkled them with prisma and chunky glitter. While that was drying I stamped the rest of the sentiment from It’s Your Birthday onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, and trimmed it down to a thin label before adhering it to the bottom of the panel to finish the card!
And that’s it! Make sure to check out the full release from Studio Katia! It’s jam-packed with birthday fun!
