Good morning! I am so honored to be a stop on the hop celebrating the 4th birthday of SugarPea Designs! There’s lots of inspiration and some fabulous giveaways so make sure you read to the bottom of this post! 🙂 Here’s what I created:
I loved this little otter from Otterly Adorable the moment I saw him! I started by coloring him with copics and then die-cut him with the coordinating dies! I masked the sentiment to remove the ‘hello’ so I could use a die-cut word instead. Then I stamped it onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a label and then die-cut the ‘hello’ word monthly incentive from black cardstock and set them aside while I worked on the background.
To create my background I blended distress inks onto several pieces of bristol smooth cardstock. My first 2 pieces of cardstock were blended with squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, wild honey, and ripe persimmon distress ink. After I was done blending I spritzed it with shimmer spray and set it aside to dry. Then I die-cut the Starburst Cover Plate from one piece of cardstock and layered it over the second piece. I blended pine needles and lucky clover onto a scrap of bristol, spritzed it with shimmer spray, and die-cut it with the Treescape Sugar Cut. Finally I blended chipped sapphire, mermaid lagoon, and salty ocean onto a piece of bristol, spritzed it with shimmer spray, and die-cut it with the Card Front Element Builder Sugar Cuts twice to create waves. To build my scene I layered the waves over the sunny background and adhered it with ATG adhesive. Then I added the treescape over the waves, adhered my otter with foam mounting tape, and adhered the sentiment to finish the card! I love how the dies create such an effective scene for my cute little otter! 🙂
Big thanks to Wendy for inviting me to be part of the hop and thank you for stopping by today!
