Good morning! I’m super excited to be a stop on the hop for the Simon Says Stamp Rest and Refresh blog hop!!
Have you checked out the new release yet? It’s FABULOUS!!!
|
Here are two cards I shared yesterday using the new release (find more details here):
And today I have two more cards to share as well as a video! 🙂
You can watch the video below or at my YouTube channel!
This was one of those projects I didn’t think would ever see the light of day. Things went wrong right and left but I’m really glad I didn’t chuck it in the trash can because I really love how it turned out! I started by watercoloring the sky, sun, water, and sand with distress inks.
Then I went back and colored the palm trees and birds with copic markers. I also used copics to add accents and details to the water and sand. I initially made a mess of masking my clouds and when my first fix didn’t quite work I decided to just add glitter! 😉 I added a thin layer of nuvo crystal glaze to each cloud and sprinkled them with chunky and prisma glitter. I also added accents with a white gel pen and a posca marker. Finally I added a thin layer of crystal glaze to the sun and reflections in the water! I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a card base!
My second card is also ocean-themed but in a not-so tropical way!
I used some simple no-line pencil coloring and the beautiful Your Light set for my second card. I started by stamping the clouds and sailboats onto a piece of dark navy cardstock with unicorn white pigment ink. I quickly used my heat gun to dry the ink and then colored the images with luminance pencils.
Once I was happy with the way the sailboat looked I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with red embossing powder. I die-cut the sentiment with the sentiment label dies and adhered it to my card with foam mounting tape to finish the card!
