Good morning! I am excited to introduce the next exclusive Stamptember collaboration set, Merry Mistletoe, from Avery Elle! Simon Says Stamp’s exclusive collaboration stamp sets are available for a limited time only – while supplies last. Once these sets sell out they will not be restocked again. So if you love this set I highly recommend placing your order soon!
Here’s what I created!
I love this pretty mistletoe image! I decided to keep it simple and stamped it on watercolor paper with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder. Then I used peeled paint, forest moss, and antique linen distress ink to loosely watercolor the leaves and berries. I used aged mahogany and festive berries distress ink for the bow and let it dry. Once it was totally dry I wet the background and added aged mahogany and festive berries distress ink to the background using a wet on wet technique.
After the distress ink dried I flicked the background panel with water to add lots of droplets across the panel. Once the water droplets dried I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I also stamped the mistletoe on vellum and heat-embossed it with the same gold tinsel embossing powder. I added a layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle to the vellum and then fussy cut the entire image. I added drops of glue strategically behind parts of the vellum and then adhered it offset over the watercolored image. I left some of the vellum unattached which added a little extra dimension. Finally I added a few green and metallic gold sequins to finish the card with a little extra sparkle!
I hope this gives you some inspiration for this pretty Merry Mistletoe set! Remember, these won’t last long so head over to Simon Says Stamp and snag yours now!!

You fussy cut the entire vellum mistletoe image? No way! Without a die-cutter? With only your Fiskars scissors? Holy moly!
Joan says
By “fussy cut” did you hand cut the vellum mistletoe image out? The cut is so good it looks as if a die cutter had been used. Amazing! I love the vellum on card look you created. I must try it out. Love it. Oh, and another thing. I think the touch of sequin gives the image great depth and richness.
