Good morning! I’m super excited to be a stop on the hop for the Simon Says Stamp Believe In You blog hop!! Have you checked out the new release yet? It’s FABULOUS!!!
Here are four projects I shared yesterday using the new release (find more details here):
And today I have three more projects to share as well as a video! 🙂
First up is a card using my finished cosmos panel!
I started by stamping the Cosmos Background with barely beige no-line ink using my MISTI and left the stamp inside my MISTI. Then I colored it with copic markers. I used RV06, R29, RV21, RV25, RV29, R39, and RV99 for the flowers, Y35, Y38, and YR16 for the flower centers, T5 and T7 for the foliage, and 110 for the background. Once I finished coloring I placed the panel back inside my MISTI, stamped it again with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder to really bring out the contrast between the pinks and blacks! At this point I trimmed the panel down to 5.5″ by 4″ and reserved the leftover panel for another card.
I adhered the panel to a white card base and then added the sentiment from Greetings Mix 1 that I heat-embossed on black cardstock. Finally I finished the card by adding dandelion and english mustard nuvo drops to the flower centers for a little extra shine and dimension!
You can watch the video for my next project below or at my YouTube channel! And don’t forget to subscribe for more crafty inspiration! 🙂
Next up is a set of cards featuring an oldie but goodie technique: ombré repeat stamping! You can do this with an acrylic block but it’s SO easy with a stamp positioner like the MISTI!
I lined up the fantastic big sentiments from the Everyday Line Sentiments set on my MISTI lid and stamped them from lighter to darker, moving my panel up each time following the grid lines on my MISTI. On some cards I also moved the panel slightly from side to side for a different look!
I kept these simple and finished them with a heat-embossed sentiment from the same set on a strip of bold black cardstock! It took about fifteen minutes to crank out ten finished cards and it would have been less had I kept the sentiments the same! But these would be a great card set to give as a gift or a design to keep in mind if you need to do some quick mass-producing!
Last, but certainly not least, is this colorful birthday card using one of Suzy’s Succulents Watercolor Prints! I just love these prints for easy coloring, no stamping involved! I started by coloring the cactus and pots with copic markers. I added a few accents with a white gel pen and a little spectrum noir clear sparkle to the flowers.
Then I went in with distress inks to create my vibrant desert sunset! I used squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, abandoned coral, worn lipstick, picked raspberry, dusty concord and broken china! After I finished the background I added a few splatters of paint and water to the panel and let it dry before trimming off the edges. I adhered it to a black panel and then added chunky and prisma glitter to the cacti with crystal glaze to finish the card!
