Good morning! Have you snagged your Sea Treasures kit yet? I’m back with another card using the September kit from Simon Says Stamp! This time I pulled different supplies from my stash to supplement the kit!
Today I also went a little more Disney traditional to create my version of Ariel with copic markers! I stamped the mermaid with versafine, heat-embossed her with clear embossing powder, and colored her with copic markers. I die-cut her and then added accents with copic spica markers, spectrum noir clear sparkle, and a white gel pen. I also added nuvo crystal glaze to her tail fins, bikini, head band, and starfish and then strategically sprinkled prisma and chunky glitter over the glaze. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and heat-embossed it with the new Mermaid Blue embossing powder that’s included in the kit (or available separately). It’s a gorgeous teal-y blue with bits of sparkly glitter! I die-cut it with a fishtail banner and set them aside while I worked on the background.
To create my background I started by blending chipped sapphire, mermaid lagoon, and tumbled glass distress ink onto a 4″ by 8″ panel of strathmore bristol cardstock. I spritzed it with water several times and blotted off the excess waters to create the appearance of bubbles! Next I took a few copic markers and drew rays descending from the top right corner of the panel. (One of these days I need to remember to just buy a sun ray stencil…oops). I also used colorless blender to lighten the rays as well. Then I trimmed down the panel to 3″ by 7″ and adhered it to a side-folding card base. Then I adhered my mermaid and sentiment with foam mounting tape. Next I arranged a mixture of sparkling clear, iridescent clear, and silver sequins of varying sizes in a vertical pattern across my card panel. I adhered them with nuvo crystal glaze and then carefully added a little extra glaze around my sequins following the same basic shape. I sprinkled the glaze with prisma and chunky glitter for a little extra sparkle. I love how the sequins add the illusion of movement to the card and of course, all the sparkle!!
And that’s it! Remember, you can subscribe to their no-obligation kits and receive them monthly for $29.99, or purchase them each month for $34.99 (while supplies last). I have a feeling this fun kit is going to sell out VERY quickly so if you’re interested I’d recommend heading over and picking up the Simon Says Stamp September kit as soon as possible! 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
