Good morning! I’m super excited to be joining some truly wonderful ladies to celebrate Simon Says Stamp’s DieCember! And every stop on the hop is a chance to win a $25 gift card! Simon Says Stamp just released 22 fabulous dies and there’s something for everyone’s design aesthetic: from cute to elegant, functional to fun! Today I focused on my favorites, the nature-inspired dies!
I love the look of this Birch Column die and how it cuts through the bottom and top of your card panel but is one solid piece. I wanted to let that be the focus of my card so I die-cut it with white cardstock and adhered it over a distress inked background. I used picked raspberry, spun sugar, shaded lilac, and blueprint sketch distress ink for the background and spritzed it with shimmer spray. Then I die-cut the sentiment from silver glitter paper and adhered it over my card panel. Finally I added a sprinkling of sparkling clear sequins for a little extra shimmer!
My next card uses the Circle Leaves die and a much more monochromatic color scheme!
I die-cut the Circle Leaves from silver glitter paper and trimmed it out of the circle. Then I die-cut it again from black cardstock and adhered the silver behind it slightly offset before adding a dark grey base. I also-die cut the sentiment from silver glitter paper and again from the black cardstock panel. I adhered the black cardstock to a white card base and then inlaid the silver glitter paper into the black cardstock for a smooth finish!
I hope you enjoyed my cards and that they inspired you to create cards with no stamping! 😉

I love the colors on the first card, as well as those clear sequins (gotta get me some!), but I am just so loving the simplicity of the offset die-cuts and very clean colors of the second. Who says black and white don’t work! this technique would be beautiful in lots of different colors, monochromatic to complementary. Now I want the die, too! Thank you so much.
Annmarie says
I see someone else described your card as stunning, but honestly when I saw the thank you card that was the first word that came to mind – STUNNING!
Well done, Jess.

Your cards are so different, yet equally beautiful! I love the crisp white with the colors behind the die as well as the black with a tiny bit of white as an accent. I also love how you offset the “thank you” sentiment die with the leaves to balance the card!
