Good morning! I’m super excited to be a stop on the hop for the Simon Says Stamp Fluttering By Release blog hop!!
Have you checked out the new release yet? It’s AMAZING!

I’ve already shared a card using the new release here (along with a personal giveaway) 😉 and I’m sharing a pair of cards today that are about as different from that card as possible!
These both kinda remind me of growing up as an early 90s kid with lots of neon rainbow bright colors! Ha, but after a dreary weekend I needed something bright and cheerful in my life!! I started by taping the new Abstract Triangle stencil over a piece of bristol smooth cardstock and blending distress oxides over it. I used picked raspberry, candied apple, carved pumpkin, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, blueprint sketch, and wilted violet distress oxides blending in rainbow order from top to bottom. I removed the stencil and set it aside to dry. For the second panel I blended the same colors onto bristol smooth cardstock but without the stencil. Once they were both dry I took the solid blended panel and taped the stencil over it. Then I applied a thin layer of Nuvo black diamond glitter paste over the stencil. I quickly removed the stencil, washed it off, and then let the panel dry overnight.
To finish the first card I die-cut the Whoa You’re Amazing sentiment die from black and white cardstock. Then I placed tape on the back of the black die and inlaid the white letters inside. Once they were all in place I pressed down firmly to make sure the white letters were stuck to the tape. Then I pressed a versamark pad over the sentiment and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder to create an enamel like embellishment. I repeated the process two more times to get a nice smooth finish. I added a tangle of black thread behind the sentiment and adhered it to the rainbow panel with foam mounting tape. I finished the card with a few clear gems!
For the second card I die-cut the Big Hello word die twice from black and once from white cardstock. I adhered the two black dies together and then offset the white cardstock over the black and adhered them together to create a thicker sentiment. I also stamped the sentiment from Messages for Everyday onto white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed that down to a thin label and adhered both of them over the stenciled background. The black shadow behind the ‘hello’ word really helps the sentiment standout from the glittery background!
I really love this fun stencil and all the different looks you can get with it! Check out the Fluttering By gallery on the Simon Says Stamp blog for even more crafty inspiration!

Yes these are totally 90’s. Amazing backgrounds. I am going to have to try some of that Nuvo black glitter paste. Such a great texture.

Okay, you did it too! You used my favorite color in the whole wide world, yellow, on both cards and you made them totally colorful! I love you so much! Oh my gosh, I am amazed at your cards! Wow! I love that stencil and that’s what I want when I win. I love stencils but I don’t think I’m really good at using them. I can see that you are though. I want to try to do what you did so I am going to study your cards.
Thanks for showing us your colorful cards and for giving us the chance to win something!
