Good morning! The Friendly Frolic collection from Simon Says Stamp is now available and it is FULL of must-haves for summer, school, floral fans, and more! I have lots to share in the coming days but first, here’s a look at the amazing release!

Today I’m sharing three projects…the first I sneaked on instagram earlier this week. It was a labor of love but I LOVE how it turned out!
I started by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper with distress inks in a rainbow pattern. I let it dry completely, added stick-it adhesive behind the paper, and then die-cut it with the new Folk Dance wafer die. I kept the pieces all together in the panel and then die-cut the die a second time with white cardstock. On the white cardstock piece I weeded out all the pieces. I temporarily adhered the white cardstock die to an A2 panel of white cardstock with washi tape and then, one at a time, carefully removed each rainbow colored piece, peeled off the adhesive, and fit it into the white cardstock guide. It took a few hours but it was easy, mindless work to do while I watched tv! 😉
Once I was done moving all the pieces over I pulled up the guide and reserved it for a future card. The pattern almost looks and feels like suede or velvet!
To finish the card I die-cut the Thanks die with white and black cardstock and stamped the rest of the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I adhered the thanks with regular adhesive and the sentiment label with foam mounting tape for a little extra dimension!
My second card features the GORGEOUS floral feather set designed by Stephanie Low!
First I stamped the feather with versafine on watercolor paper and heat-embossed it with clear embossing power. I watercolored the florals with mijello mission gold watercolors and then watercolored the feather and background using the gold finetec mica watercolors.
To finish the card I stamped the sentiment from Tabbed Sentiments onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. I die-cut it with the Simple Tabs die and also die-cut a tab from gold glittler cardstock. I adhered them together and then added a twist of gold thread around the watercolored panel. I adhered the sentiment with foam mounting tape and then added a few gold metallic sequins to finish the card.
My final project is a cute shaped notecard or tag that you could slip into your child’s backpack on the first day of school! I’ll probably tuck mine into my husband’s lunch box (he’s a school teacher). I stamped the adorable school bus with copic-friendly ink and colored it with copic markers. I die-cut the colored image and a second bus shape from white cardstock and punched a hole through on of the top lights.
I stamped the sentiment on the bottom bus and then tied them together with red ribbon and twine! Finally I added a little nuvo crystal glaze to the bus headlights. Cute and cheery for the first day of school! 😉
If you couldn’t tell, I’m head over heels for this release and I hope you are, too! I’ll be back tomorrow for a giant blog hop but I encourage you to head over and shop the Friendly Frolic release early because I’m guessing several of these awesome products will sell out pretty quick! 😉

These are all great cards Jessica. I love the first one and I have to say that it would be a labour of love to move those pieces but it is something I would totally enjoy. As you said, it is mindless work that can be enjoyed while watching TV.
Your second card is so beautiful and your colouring on the school bus is excellent. Well done on all counts!

All of your cards turned out great. I can’t wait for my Gemini to arrive next week so I can start doing these intricate designs too….I have the patience but not a die cutter that works well with the intricate ones.
