Good morning! I’m super excited to be a stop on the hop for the Simon Says Stamp Sending Good Vibes blog hop!!

I’ve already shared four cards using the new release here (with a giveaway! 😉 ) and today I’m sharing a trio of bright and colorful alcohol ink cards using the beautiful Hibiscus Frame die!
I thought a gorgeous tropical die like the hibiscus frame called for some bright tropical colors and one of the easiest ways to achieve a super vibrant look is with alcohol inks! Add a little gold foil and we’re good to go! 😉
To start I took a 9×12 piece of yupo and added alcohol inks in red pepper, flamingo, watermelon, wild plum across the page with a little blending solution. I forgot to press record when I started this project but you can find instructions for a similar alcohol ink blended background and foil accented card here! I also added botanical and limeade alcohol ink to one corner. I moved the ink around with a camera air puffer until it was almost dry and then pressed a sheet of rose gold foil over the panel. I used a brayer to press the foil into the paper and then peeled it off. The foil sticks to the wet alcohol ink with no additional adhesive needed! Look at this shine!!
For my first card I die-cut the Hibiscus Frame die from the main alcohol ink panel and reserved the negatives. I die-cut the leaves of the Hibiscus Frame die from part of the green section. I also cut the same die from a piece of white cardstock. I laid the white die-cut outline guide over a white cardbase and used liquid adhesive to carefully inlay each negative pieces of the alcohol inked hibiscus. Once all the pieces were in I carefully removed the white outline guide and then placed a stack of clean acrylic blocks over the alcohol ink design while it dried.
While it was drying I die-cut the center of the flower and the sentiment with gold glitter paper. After it was totally dry I used foam mounting tape to adhere the flower center and liquid adhesive for the sentiment! The glitter paper perfectly matches the foil!
My second card uses the leftover alcohol ink die-cut outline to create a shaker card! I adhered a piece of acetate behind the alcohol inked hibiscus, added a double layer of foam mounting tape and filled it liberally with rose gold, red, yellow, orange, iridescent clear sequins, and clear confetti before sealing it up with a panel of red glitter paper.
I adhered the shaker to a black cardstock panel. Next I die-cut the Good Vibes sentiment and the flower center from black and gold glitter cardstock and adhered them to the card. I used regular adhesive for the flower center and foam mounting tape for the sentiment.
My last card might be my very favorite! I die-cut the Hibiscus Frame twice from my alcohol inked background and reserved the negatives. Then I die-cut the frame offset twice from a panel of black cardstock. I liberally applied adhesive to a white cardbase and then adhered the black cardstock panel over it. Then I carefully inlaid each alcohol inked piece into the frame openings to complete the flower. Then I die-cut the frame twice from gold glitter paper and once from the green alcohol inked section, inlaid those pieces, and then trimmed off the excess.
Next I die-cut the sentiment from Everett Solid Letters once using gold glitter paper and three times using black cardstock. I adhered them together to create a thicker embellishment and then adhered it to the card. Finally I added a few nuvo drops to finish the card! Definitely puts me in the mood for a tropical vacation! 😉 What about you?
