Good morning! Stamptember might be over but Simon Says Stamp has just released a FABULOUS holiday release, Making Spirits Bright, that makes October almost as exciting as September! 😉 I’ll be back Friday with an exciting blog hop but wanted to pop in with one of my first cards using the holiday release!
This isn’t a new technique but it’s one that I’ve never tried before and I thought these dies would be perfect for it! I started by die-cutting the Fa La La word die from white cardstock four times and from Lipstick Red cardstock once. I also stamped the sentiment from onto Lipstick Red cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a small label. To assemble the card I first adhered the red Fa La La exactly where I wanted it on the card panel and then arranged the white words around it. I used liquid adhesive to adhere the die-cuts which gave me a few extra seconds to play around with placement before the seal became permanent. Then I trimmed off the bits of the word dies that hung off the side of the panel and finished the card by adhering the rest of the sentiment label with foam mounting tape.
I’m starting to get into frenzy mode for building up my Christmas card stash and easy cards like this are perfect! I really love the way this card turned out and I look forward to trying a similar design with other Christmas word dies! 🙂
I’d love to know your favorite item from the new release so head over and check out the Making Spirits Bright release and then let me know what’s on the top of your wishlist! One lucky commenter will win a gift card to Simon Says Stamp for $15! This giveaway will close on 11:59PM ET on October 20th!
Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Such a lovely card. It’s simple but so pretty. I love the storybook dies – especially the little deer.

I have not tried this either, and it has a huge impact, so I am especially glad you decided to give it a go. Thank you. I am saving it to my “idea file!” My favorites are the ‘o, holy night’ and ‘wise men still seek Him’ dies, but there is so much more that I’d really really really like to have too!

I really like the “Oh Holy Night” die. I think if I were to purchase only one item, that would be it!

This is a lovely card! There are so many great products in this release, but I think my favorite it the kaleidoscope background stamp.

Love the tone on tone with the sentiment and then the pop of red takes it over the top. Beautifully done.
