Good afternoon! I’m heading into the final Christmas preparations around here but thought I’d pop in to share a quick video with some stenciling tips and tricks and a pair of Lisa Frank inspired cards! When I first saw these new stencils over at Scrapbook.com I immediately thought of Lisa Frank’s gorgeous rainbow patterns that dominated my school supplies in the 80s and 90s. I couldn’t wait to recreate those patterns in cards!
Also just a quick note that almost all the products I used in today’s video are on sale over at Scrapbook.com (as well as a ton of other products) and you can get an extra 5% off the sale prices with the code MERRYFIVE so definitely head over to see the sales!
You can watch the video below or over on my YouTube channel!

I combined several of my favorite companies and products to create these cards (which is a bit of a hint for a video series I have coming in 2021!!) and I’m really happy with how they turned out!
To start I blended neon inks from Hero Arts across two panels of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. I heat set the ink and then applied Therm O Web black glitz glitter gel over the Zebra and Cheetah stencils. I let the panels dry completely while I worked on the sentiment!
The sentiment is from an older Honey Bee Stamps set but it’s one of my favorite filled with great, encouraging sentiments! I stamped it onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the sentiment and adhered it to the panel with foam mounting tape. I finished the cards with a sprinkle of metallic gold sequins!
Be sure to watch the video for more detailed tips and tricks on stenciling! I really love the sparkle of the glitz gel and it pairs beautifully with the neon inks! I think these might have been the two cards I enjoyed making the most this year!
If you have any questions or thoughts please feel free to leave a comment below and I hope you found some stenciling tips or tricks that will be useful for you! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Oh emmmmm g e e e e e! When that stencil came off of the rainbow background…..a a a a a h h h (singing). It was like the sun spilled out from behind the clouds or like someone gave me a dark chocolate covered piece of carrot cake! Amazing!! And great tip about the baby wipe while removing the tape from the cardstock. I’m always debating what to do first (clean off the stencil or take the tape off of the cardstock). Simple and effective solution!
