Good morning! I am so excited to be a stop on the hop celebrating Ruby’s Summer and Fall stamp collection from The Gray Muse! I’ve known Ruby since almost the very beginning of her cardmaking journey (and mine!) way back in 2015 and it’s amazing to see where she’s taken her creativity since then! Today I decided to play with the Pretty Pansies set! If you’re a regular blog viewer you know that I don’t often do copic-colored florals these days but for Ruby I’ll make an exception! 😉
To start I stamped the pansies onto white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I colored them with copic markers before fussy-cutting the entire image. I used the following colors:
- Pansy centers: Y32, Y35, Y38
- Pansy petals: B60, B63, B66, B37, B39, BV29
- Leaves: T1, T3, T5, T7
I decided to let the flowers pop and kept the foliage gray!
Next I ink-blended a panel of strathmore bristol cardstock with scattered straw, mustard seed, and wild honey distress oxide ink. I focused the darkest color in the center and blended out to the lightest around the edges. After the panel was dry I splattered it with water, metallic gold paint, and distress oxide inks in wild honey and ripe persimmon. While it was drying I stamped a sentiment from Pretty Pansies onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label. Next I added adhesive to the back of the pansies and coiled a little bit of metallic gold thread on the adhesive. Then I added a layer of foam mounting tape to the pansies and adhered it to my blended panel. When I add thread to a card I like to keep a layer of foam tape between the base of the card and the thread to give the thread a little dimension! Finally I added the sentiment with foam tape! I’ll admit, I don’t think I’ve ever used so much yellow on a card ever before but I kinda love how cheery it is! 🙂 Definitely brightens your day! 😉
And that’s it! Be sure to head over check out the full stamp release from The Gray Muse as well as her incredible enamel pins! 😉
To celebrate the hop The Gray Muse is giving away FIVE $25 gift codes to the shop so you can add some of these stamps (or enamel pins) to your collection!
