Good morning! Today I’m happy to be sharing a card using the gorgeous new Blooms and Berries stamp set from The Stamp Market! I decided to mix some of the new ink refills from The Stamp Market with white gouache so that I could paint on colored cardstock. It was a new experience for me but definitely one I’ll be trying again soon!
To start I placed the stamp in my MISTI and stamped it onto a panel of Lawn Fawn Peacock cardstock with no-line ink. I removed the panel but left the stamp in my MISTI. Next I mixed Cherry Kisses, Bubble Gum, Emerald Isle, and Tropical Teal ink refills with white gouache on a palette. I started off with about a pea-sized amount of gouache with a drop of ink. I used the same ratio if I needed more paint as I was working! I also mixed two pea-sized amounts of gouache with a drop of Bubble Gum to make an even paler shade of pink. Next I used the outline of the stamp as a guide to paint my bouquet. Instead of traditional shading I used the different shades of pink to create contrast. Once I was finished painting I let the panel dry completely.
Once it was totally dry I placed the panel back in my MISTI and stamped it with versafine before heat-embossing it with clear embossing powder. The black embossing really helps it POP! Next I stamped a sentiment from the Joy bundle with Bubble Gum ink on white cardstock. I trimmed it down to a thin label and popped it on the card with foam mounting tape. I added a few pink sequins to accent the card and finished it by adding nuvo jewel drops to the berries. The slight pink tint in the jewel drops changes the berries just enough to make it look like a fourth shade of pink!
I was really nervous about how this would turn out but I kinda love it! I think it looks a little like stained glass! I’m insta-hopping with two other crafty ladies to show different ways to use this set so head to my instagram to hop along! I’m also giving away a Blooms and Berries set on instagram so check out the details of my giveaway over there! 😉
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
