Good morning again! I think this is the last you’ll hear from me today! 😉 But I’m excited to share that I am the featured artist for the newest Tag You’re It challenge!
This has definitely been a tag heavy month (thanks to Tracey McNeely!) but I’ve been enjoying the challenge of working on a smaller canvas! Today’s tag is a sugary sweet pink and gold confection! If you haven’t noticed I’ve had a thing for pink and gold the last few weeks! 😉
To start I stamped the snowflakes onto a piece of distress watercolor paper with versamark and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I watercolored the paper with a loose wash of spun sugar, victorian velvet, and worn lipstick distress ink. I let it dry completely before die-cutting it with a stitched circle tag. Next I applied a layer of grit paste to the bottom of the circle to resemble snow. I didn’t smooth it down so it created a lot of fabulous texture. While it was still wet I sprinkled it with chunky glitter and then set it aside to dry.
While it was drying I die-cut my deer from white cardstock and metallic gold cardstock. I adhered them together to create a thicker embellishment and added a red nose with nuvo crystal drops. While the nuvo drop was drying I die-cut a smaller round tag from the leftover watercolored panel. I stamped the sentiment on the center of the tag and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. Once everything was dry I adhered the deer with foam mounting tape and tied the tags together with twine and ribbon! I hope the tag inspires you to create something for the challenge! Don’t forget to link up your tag here!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!
