Good morning! There’s a new release from Concord & 9th this morning and today I’m sharing a pair of cards, one of which is made almost entirely of scraps!
I’ve mentioned this already but I am head over heels for the inks and coordinating cardstocks from Concord & 9th (and I am SO hoping that we have more colors coming soon)!! The foam pad of the ink pads allows for super smooth and crisp stamping the first time and the colors match perfectly with the cardstocks as you can see in the photo above! And in case you’ve been considering giving them a try the mini ink cube bundle and the full size ink pad bundle are both on sale for 10% off!
I decided to use three of my favorite shades: Grapefruit, Honeysuckle, and Poppy with some sparkly gold and black for today’s cards!
For my first card I stamped the new Scattered Hearts turnabout stamp with Grapefruit, Honeysuckle, and Poppy ink. I let the ink dry and then stamped the fourth turn with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder. Then I die-cut the ‘Love’ and ‘You’ from the All the Love dies with black cardstock three times and the ‘You’ once from gold glitter cardstock. I adhered them together to create dimensional sentiments and then adhered them to the card. Super simple but perfect for Valentine’s Day!
For my second card I kept the black cardstock I had used for the sentiment in the first card and trimmed it down so I had an equal margin around all four sides. Next I gathered up some of my Concord & 9th cardstock scraps in the same colors: Grapefruit, Honeysuckle, and Poppy and trimmed them into strips of varying widths. I also did the same with gold glitter cardstock. Then I adhered the strips to a white card base and added the ‘Love’ on top with foam mounting tape. Finally I finished it with another gold glitter ‘You’ that was stacked on a few layers of black cardstock.
And that’s it! There are lots of great products in the January release so I encourage you to head over and check it out! I’ll be sharing a project using the Color Me Happy products later this month!! Thank you so much for stopping by and have an amazing weekend!
