Don’t forget to check out my first post for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop for a chance to win a gift card from Starbucks! 😉
Good morning! Â I have two quick cards to share using some new stamps that came in this week! Â First up is a card using the new Whale Wishes stamp set from Mama Elephant with colorburst powders!
I used Ultramarine colorburst powder on Ken Oliver’s watermedia paper. Â I sprinkled powder on part of the paper and painted it on to another part. Â Then I used the wave die cuts from Mama Elephant to cut out a few waves. Â I stamped that adorable orca in black ink and then cut a whole pod of them with my ScanNCut!
I used foam mounting tape to adhere the whale and one of the waves. Â Finally I stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder!
I love how dynamic my little whale looks with the help of the colorburst powders!  I see a LOT of whale cards in my future! 😉
And for my second card I used this genius die from Concord & 9th’s March release!
Talk about a quick card!  I used my Daniel Smith sample dots to paint the die cut flower vase and then used my favorite DS Opera Pink to quickly watercolor the background.  Literally, it took less than 7 minutes…I know because that was the time I had between two piano students on Thursday! 😉 If you’re interested in getting into watercolors but are daunted by the sheer number of colors and options available I highly recommend the Daniel Smith sample dots!  You can do quite a bit of painting just with the sample dots and it gives you the opportunity to see what colors you really like before making a big purchase!  And check out the bottom of my post for a chance to win the 66 dot sampler from Daniel Smith! 😉
I set everything aside to dry overnight and then assembled the card the following morning. Â I stamped the sentiment and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder and added a little spectrum noir sparkle to the flowers! Â Finally I rounded two corners with my 1/2″ corner chomper!
I hope you’re having a great Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow with a couple of cards and a video! 😉
