Watercolored Hello

Good morning!  As soon as I saw this gorgeous Botanic Hello set from Mama Elephant I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!  And it was just as much fun to watercolor as I had hoped!

I started by stamping the image with versamark and heat-embossing it with gold tinsel embossing powder.  Next I shaded the flowers with dark pink and red carmine zig markers and blended the colors together with a damp paintbrush.  Once the flowers were done I did the same using the marine green marker for the greenery.  I shaded the words with the pink marker and blended it out with my spectrum noir clear sparkle brush.  Then I added additional shading around the image with the same pink marker and a damp paintbrush. This is still a technique I struggle with…I need to get more comfortable with blending out those shading lines and I wasn’t intending to share this card; but I decided that everyone struggles with something and this is my personal crafty struggle! 😉

I stamped the sentiment onto a fishtail banner, heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder, and popped it up with foam mounting tape.  I stamped the edges of a cardbase with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder.  Then I trimmed the watercolor panel down and matted it on the embossed base.  Finally I finished the card with a sprinkling of metallic gold sequins.
